Cause I’m Young<\/a><\/h1>\n

There\u2019s a hole in my shoe,’
\nAnd my toe is coming through,#
\nThere\u2019s a scab on my knee%
\nCause I fell so gracefully,#
\nThere\u2019s a patch on my eye&
\nCause the ball didn’t go by.&
\nThere\u2019s a song on my tongue,’
\nBut it\u2019s stupid cause I\u2019m young.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I hope my child, at age 2, 4, 6, 8, 12 or older, never views something about themselves as stupid. Period. But somehow it’s even worse when the final two words of this poem are included.<\/p>\n

There’s a song on my tongue, but it’s stupid (be)cause I’m young.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
